History of the federation of Netherlands Societies

( abridged )


Officially commenced in July 1966

the Federation was incorporated

on the 1st day of November 1967.

Three of the many objects were:

o To advance the interests of the affiliated organizations.

o To promote celebrations of a general Australian and /or Dutch character.

o To raise money for charitable purposes.

The Klaverjas federation has, another tournament coming up shortly.

So keep Sunday 12th of September free, for that event!!

This tournament is:couples so find your partner for that day, at the Rembrandt-Club.

Booking in at 12 o'clock mid-day. Participants requested to be punctual!

Memorabilia, associated with the Sunrise Choir, delivered to the Dutch Australian Cultural Centre by Mr and Mrs Joosten.

Webmaster and DACC Boardmember, Joop, attended the Rembrandt's Birthday exhibition, held 17/18 July, at the Rembrandt Club, St Marys.

In Leiden, Rembrandt's 404th birthday was, once again, celebrated in style. Take a look!

D.A.S. Neerlandia celebrated it 56th anniversary, 7 August, 2010.

Webmaster, Jo M. went along to look.

At the Dutch Australian Society Neerlandia you can eat Dutch delicatessen like kroketten, paling and haring. On Sunday they also serve a proper Dutch lunch ($7 for members, $9 for non-members).

The club also has a Dutch shop (‘t Winkeltje) where they sell all kinds of Dutch food & sweets.

Dutch Australian Society Illawarra,

recently celebrated

"mid winter" with

dinner for the "Dutchies in the Illawarra".

Webmaster Jo M., was there.

Neerlandia celebrated its 56th Anniversary, at the D.A.S. Neerlandia Club House, on August 7 with a roast dinner buffet, wine included. Members are free, non-member partners $ 30.00.

Their A.G.M.: 21st August.  

Fathers Day luncheon: 5 September, free for fathers.

Eurofest in September.

Melbourne cup: 9th November.

St Nicolaas will visit Neerlandia Club December 5th.

Neerlandia Christmas Dinner:11 December.

Klaverjas Christmas Tournament:12 December (to be confirmed) 

Every Sunday Neerlandia has hot lunches and every Thursday the club house is open from 11 am to 3 pm. for fingerfood, like croquettes, chips, herrings, spring rolls, prawn cutlets.

They also cater for special occasions at a reasonable rate. The club's premises are available for hire, for further info ring Miep Bosschieter on 9982 2981.
