A caring community offering either independent living or full care hostel accommodation. The Abel Tasman Village philosophy is to look after residents' welfare and to assist with independent living for as long as feasible, thus ensuring enjoyment and quality of life. Two types of attractive and spacious units are available in The Abel Tasman Retirement Village. All units have two bedrooms with ensuite bathroom, lounge, open kitchen and a laundry. There are free standing cottages or apartments with large balconies in a block of 4 units, with chair life access to the first floor. Abel Tasman has 14 of these independent living units. |
The units are surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens. Domestic help and other chargeable services can be arranged on request. Since 1999, Abel Tasman Village has cared not only for its own residents, but now services some 58 Community Aged Care Packages. What are Community Aged Care Packages? For many people, living in the comfort of their own home is an important part of growing older. The packages are designed to help people with multiple care needs to remain living in their own home, in ways based on their particular needs. The types of services offered as part of a package include help with personal care, dressing, meals, transport, laundry, and social acitivities. The service is provided by our own bilingual care workers. To be elegible to receive a care package, the prospective client's needs must first be assessed by an approved assessment authority. The assessment is free. Your doctor will probably be able to put you in touch with an Aged Care Information Line on 1800 500 583, or ring (02) 9644 7222. |
An emergency call service is available 24 hours a day.
